Look like or not? Stars who played famous women
Biography films are a complex genre for directors , and for actors. After all, it is important not only to achieve external similarity , but also convey the character of the individual and completely reincarnate , to meet famous, extraordinary and talented individuals. We decided to recall the Russian actresses , who were not afraid of this task.
Julia Peresild and Lyudmila Gurchenko
When Sergey Aldonin, the director of the serial, saw Julia, he immediately understood: it was her! However, Julia herself did not immediately agree to act. Only when I began to study the biography of Lyudmila Gurchenko and read her books, I wanted to show the scale of the personality of this great woman who gave her whole life to the profession. During the shooting Peresild lost weight and tried on about 80 costumes, 20 of which were sewn specially for her. The series “Lyudmila Gurchenko” was released in 2015 and then caused a lot of controversy, but critics were satisfied with the play of Yulia Peresild.
Julia Snigir and Catherine II
The main role in the historical 12-part film “The Great” Julia agreed immediately. It was a dream, although the actress herself in the role of Catherine at first did not represent herself. The audience noted later that Julia is not at all like Catherine in appearance, but for Julia it was much more important to convey the inner content of the empress: her walk, look and manner of speaking.
I had only one doubt – can I cope with this role? I read a lot about Catherine. But reading a bunch of books is easy – it’s hard to feel in the historical character of a living person. I was interested in the simplest things that make up character.
Svetlana Kryuchkova and Catherine II
By the way, Catherine the Great played many actresses: Marina Alexandrova, Natalya Gundareva, Christina Orbakaite and even Marina Vlady, but one of the most striking of her incarnations on the screen can be considered the role of Svetlana Kryuchkova in the film “The Tsar’s Hunt”. As Kryuchkova herself admitted, this role was not easy for her. The actress had to learn to ride, as well as work on pronunciation, because Catherine II for a long time spoke with a German accent. In order to speak in the frame with the right accent, Svetlana listened to the recordings that the German made for her in Russian.
Olesya Sudzilovskaya and Lyubov Orlova
Casting for the main role in the series “Orlova and Alexandrov”, released in 2015, lasted six months. During this time, many actresses participated in it, but the role of Orlova was given to Sudzilovsky. The whole team worked on creating the image, and the heroine changed ten wigs during the shooting. In some scenes Olesya was duplicated by professional singers, but in the main episodes Sudzilovskaya sang herself.
Julia Rutberg and Faina Ranevskaya
Also in the series played a vivid role of Julia Rutberg.
Initially, I refused to play it – it’s like signing a death sentence for myself, and then the director and a wonderful film crew convinced me that, from their point of view, I am still a person with a certain culture and really knowing a lot about a great actress – there is the opportunity to protect her so that this role is not played by a random person.
Vera Sotnikova and Lyudmila Zykina
In 2013, the series “Lyudmila” was released, where the role of the legendary singer is performed by 3 actresses. Zykina aged 30 years and until his death played Vera Sotnikova. The actress had to not only repaint her red hair black, but also to recover by 10 kg.
Victoria Isakova and Marina Tsvetaeva
The actress played the famous poetess in the 2013 film “Mirrors”. Spectators and critics noted the exceptional work of Victoria, who was able to fully reincarnate into another person and brilliantly convey the image of the main character.
Elena Yakovleva and Vanga
The biographical drama “Vangeliya” about the world-famous Bulgarian soothsayer Vanga first appeared on the screens on September 18, 2013. The series covers the entire life of the famous seer, so the role of Vanga performed 5 actresses. Yakovlev plays Wangu in old age. To create an image for about four months, a special plastic make-up was made and it took 5 hours a day to apply it.
Olga Pogodina and Margarita Nazarova
Olga got the role of the most famous tamer of the Soviet Union, and the actress had to do many tricks under the leadership of the Zapashny brothers without doubles. After filming the TV series Margarita Nazarov, Olga’s name was entered into the Guinness Book of Records of Russia for performing the trick of the head of a trainer in the tiger’s mouth.
Irina Rozanova and Ekaterina Furtseva
The 2011 series “Furtseva” is dedicated to the Minister of Culture Ekaterina Furtseva. Irina didn’t have the task to achieve complete external resemblance, she is taller, she has other facial features. It was more important to show that this legendary person had a lot of losses, betrayals and disappointments in his life.
Irina Pegova and Zoya Fedorova
The basis of the series “Zoya” laid the facts of the biography of a star of Soviet cinema, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Zoya Fedorova. Irina had to play an actress throughout her life, and for the scenes where Pegova played the old woman, they put on make-up for 6 hours. As Irina herself said about her heroine: “by the number of men and wrong actions surpassed many.”
